Introduction

Press Architecture needed a brand identity that established their presence while setting them apart. They sought a logo, brand package, and website that reflected their expertise and commitment to sustainable mass timber construction.

The identity had to break from the corporate aesthetic and embody Press Architecture’s values of sustainability, innovation, and accessibility. It needed to balance professionalism with approachability while visually reinforcing their expertise in mass timber construction. Expressive typography, layered design, and a curated color palette brought their mission to life.

methods

We built a strong foundation, ensuring the logo and brand package would guide the website’s design. A creative Q&A informed a detailed Creative Brief outlining objectives, audience, messaging, and brand voice. Using a Word Map, we explored four narrative directions before refining the one that best captured their vision.

We developed multiple logo concepts, each tied to a unique narrative. After selecting the strongest direction, we expanded the visual language through collateral before moving to web design. We structured the site with a sitemap and wireframes, ensuring clarity and usability. A high-fidelity prototype refined the design, aligning every element with the brand’s identity.

Beyond design, I contributed to development, handling the foundational build while overseeing custom components. We refined functionality through Alpha, Beta, and Release Candidate phases, ensuring a smooth launch. I provided training so the client could manage content, access, and site maintenance independently.
